We might be just getting closer and closer to seeing the players coming out of their isolation rooms.
Utah Jazz’ Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell were cleared by doctors of the novel coronavirus two weeks after they tested positive to the said virus. Gobert’s diagnosis was the green light for the NBA to suspend the remaining of the season and for other leagues to follow.
Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated announced on his social media about the two Jazz All-Stars’ recovery. The entire team, as well as the team’s personnel, were also cleared and was deemed that they do not pose a risk to others by the Department of Health in Utah after finishing their quarantine period.
All Utah Jazz players and personnel -- including Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell -- have been cleared by the Utah Department of Health, per team. DOH has determined that no Jazz player/staffer poses a risk of infection to others.

The team, however, still needs to observe social distancing and spend limited time outside per the league’s recommendation, as well as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) per Tim McMahon of ESPN.
Jazz will continue to practice social distancing and limiting time outside of their homes to essential activities, in accordance with CDC and NBA recommendations. They no longer pose a risk of infection to others, regardless of prior testing status, per Utah Department of Health.

Gobert and Mitchell were the first two players to test positive to COVID-19, with the French big man’s results were confirmed before the game as he was initially listed as out due to an illness and the latter’s diagnosis came out the following day. Detroit Pistons’ big man Christian Wood was the first player to fully recover from the virus per his agent as published by CBS Sports.
The 23-year old Mitchell cannot contain his excitement after hearing the news and even posted what could be his mood after learning about their clearance.

But after the moment finally sank in, the former Louisville Cardinal reminded his fans and social media followers about observing precautionary measures, particularly social distancing, as he was asymptomatic when the diagnosis was made. Unlike Mitchell, Gobert felt a loss of taste and smell for a few days during the quarantine period but still managed to get the clearance from medical professionals.
On a more serious note... let’s continue to practice social distancing and remember... even though you may not have symptoms you still may be infected!! Let’s keep everyone in our prayers and stay safe❤️🙏🏾
