‘New Girl’ Season 6 Spoilers: Jess Confesses Her Real Feelings For Nick In Finale?

“New Girl” Season 6, episode 22 will see Jess (Zooey Deschanel) finally confessing her real feelings for Nick (Jake Johnson).

In “Five Stars For Beezus,” Jess is finally ready to tell the Nick the truth, but it is unclear how the latter will react. Nick is still in a relationship with Reagan (Megan Fox), even though it’s obvious that he also has feelings for Jess. Ahead of the finale episode, Jess will spend some time with her dad in Portland, so she could also dodge her real feelings for Nick. The latter, on the other hand, will realize that he and Reagan don’t really have that much in common.

During a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Johnson hinted on the possibility of Season 6 being the last for “New Girl.” The actor added that the finale episode was shot in such a way that it could serve as a good ending for the fans of the show. Johnson’s statement suggests that Jess and Nick will also reunite with each other romantically in the finale.

“FOX won’t tell us whether the show will be renewed. But we shot a finale where, if this was the end, the core fan base would be OK,” he said.

As of late, Johnson and Deschanel are still under contract with FOX, so there is still a chance that “New Girl” will be renewed for Season 7. But when series creator Liz Meriweather was asked to weigh in on the cancellation rumors, she told the publication, “I genuinely don’t know. Fingers crossed.”

A representative from the network recently updated fans regarding the fate of the show, saying that the creators, execs and cast of “New Girl” are currently in discussion with the network heads.

“New Girl” Season 6, episode 22 will air on FOX on April 4 at 8 p.m. EST.
