The Next ‘How I Met Your Mother?’ ‘Ex-Men’ Set To Bring The Laughs With Kal Penn And ‘Paranormal Activity 3’ Star
If "How I Met Your Mother" decides to end the series with their upcoming eighth season then viewers are going to need to turn to another series for laughs. Luckily "HIMYM" producer Rob Greenberg has just the right comedy solution for fans - his new series "Ex-Men."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Ex-Men" is a single-camera comedy bout a young guy "who finds camaraderie living among the more experienced guys he meets in a short-term rental complex."
It was announced earlier this week that "Paranormal Activity 3" star Chris Smith has landed the lead role of Carter, the young guy moving into the short-term rental complex. Now another casting announcement has revealed that the show will be getting some star power.
Entertainment Weekly reports that "Harold and Kumar" star and former employee for the White House Office of Public Liaison, Kal Penn is set to move into the apartment complex with Chris Smith. Penn will bring the laughs as Gil, "a guy who moves into the complex as he awaits his wife's forgiveness following the world's worst affair." The kicker? The affair happened three years ago.
This won't be the first time that Penn will be working with CBS or Greenberg. Penn was a recurring guest star on "How I Met Your Mother" as one of Robin's love interests.
"Ex-Men" is CBS' first pilot order for 2013-2014. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum are on board to executive-produce the series.
If "How I Met Your Mother" ends this season, will you turn to "Ex-Men" when it debuts in 2013?
