KEY POINTS

  • DeepRedSky NFT Marketplace will accept BTC, SOL and DOGE
  • ETH, USDT and other cryptocurrencies will be added later this summer
  • ERC-20 and TRON chains will be used for other cryptocurrencies

DeepRedSky, an NFT (non-fungible token) marketplace, will now allow NFT enthusiasts to make their purchases using Bitcoin (BTC), Solana (SOL) and Dogecoin (DOGE). Ethereum (ETH) and other cryptocurrencies will be added soon.

A press release from DeepRedSky pointed out that most of the marketplaces only accept cryptocurrencies native to the blockchain on which they are built. "DeepRedSky is excited to democratize NFT collecting as the technology continues to reach an ever-larger global audience of enthusiasts," it added.

The plan is to accept other cryptocurrencies later this summer including Ethereum (ETH) and stablecoin Tether (USDT) using the ERC-20 chain and TRON chain.

The NFT marketplace is backed by Parler, a firm that aims to make freedom of expression, security and privacy a reality through social media and blockchain technology. The platform, which uses the First Amendment as a guide, currently has 16 million users.

"When our team observed the overwhelming majority of our NFT collectors were on mobile devices, we initially focused on the unconventional choice to accept credit card payments for simplicity and convenience," said Parler CEO George Farmer. "DeepRedSky's expansion into a multi-chain payment marketplace further opens the NFT platform to deliver great options for new collectors and creators, while providing great confidence and lower fees using the Solana blockchain."
