Nick Cannon Blames Government For Ex-Wife Mariah Carey’s NYE Blunder, Updates Fans About Lupus
Nick Cannon just went to “The Ellen Degeneres Show” to talk about his family life and the New Year’s Eve blunder of ex-wife Mariah Carey. The “America’s Got Talent” host also opened up about his hospital stay last December due to lupus.
During his appearance on DeGeneres’ morning talk show, Cannon talked about what could have caused Carey’s lip sync mishap. “You know me, I’m a conspiracy theorist. I think the government did that. They set her up. That was a distraction,” he jokingly told the host.
On a serious note, Cannon said that malfunctioning sound equipment was mainly responsible for the snafu. He even shared that he experiences the same thing every now and then. “Anyone who knows about performing and having inner-ears, things like that can go wrong on live television. I screw up on ‘America’s Got Talent’ all the time. So when there’s people in your ear saying things and stuff, I think she got a little flustered,” the rapper-comedian said.
Cannon did not deny that it took guts for Carey to finish the number, so he lauded his ex. “Being the diva that she is, she said, ‘I’m just going to walk around and pose for 7 minutes,’” he added.
Since Cannon was given a chance to defend Carey, he took to Instagram on Wednesday to personally thank DeGeneres for having him on her show. He shared a snap of him and DeGeneres while they were filming his guest appearance alongside his “thank you” message.
Aside from his thoughts on Carey’s NYE failed performance, Cannon also opened up about spending the holidays at the hospital due to lupus. Cannon reportedly had five blood transfusions during his stay at the health facility, and he shared that he is handling his condition quite well, as reported by E! News.
A few days ago, Cannon enlightened his followers on Instagram with some facts about his chronic illness. He posted an infographic about the signs and symptoms of the disease and how people should become aware of the condition and understand those people who suffer the invisible illness.
