Nick Jonas Takes NSFW Photos For Flaunt Magazine, Evokes Marky Mark's Calvin Klein Shoot

Nick Jonas is continuing his campaign to shed his teen idol image as a Disney Channel star and member of the Jonas Brothers. The 22-year-old singer has been riding high off the success of his single, “Jealous,” from his coming solo album “Nick Jonas” (the Jonas Brothers broke up in 2013) and now has a risque photo shoot for Flaunt magazine -- showing off his very adult self.

The pictures from the photo shoot show Jonas bare-chested and sporting only white Calvin Klein briefs (the shoot is a Calvin Klein promotion) with his jeans around his ankles. In multiple shots he provocatively grabs his crotch while looking into the camera. The shots have drawn comparisons to Mark Wahlberg’s famous Calvin Klein photos from 1992.

The photo spread seems like a calculated effort by Jonas to shed his Disney teen image and establish himself as a legitimate adult entertainer. It comes as Jonas gets ready to release his first post-Jonas Brothers solo album on Nov. 11. The album’s first single, “Jealous,” has performed well on the charts.

The Flaunt shoot also isn’t the last fans will see of Jonas stripping down. The singer also is set to star in the coming DirecTV series “Kingdom,” where he bares-all in some steamy sex scenes. Jonas told E! Online that the only he thing he didn’t do for the show was full frontal, but that it wasn’t out of the question for the future.

In many ways Jonas’ attempt to re-establish himself as an adult star mirrors fellow former Disney star (and ex-girlfriend) Miley Cyrus, who has used a solo career and provocative, explicit antics to shake her former image. Time will tell if Jonas will be equally as successful in doing so.
