Nicki Minaj Addresses Nas Dating Rumors, Teases She’s Willing To Break Rules For Relationship

Although Nicki Minaj previously made light of an Instagram picture she shared of herself cuddled up to Nas, the rapper was recently put on the spot and forced to address dating rumors concerning herself and the “One Mic” artist.

On Tuesday, Minaj made an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” where the host asked her whether she was in a relationship with the rapper. Minaj replied by telling the comedian that she thinks Nas is “dope” and truly admires him.

“He’s the king. He is the King of Queens, and I’d like to think I’m the Queen of Queens. Well, he’s a rap legend so let’s just say that I have a lot of respect for him. And, you know, he’s kind of cute, too,” Minaj stated.

DeGeneres then asked the star if she and Nas have had any sleepovers. The rapper explained that there have been several overnight visits but revealed she has a preference when it comes to spending time at one another’s homes. “I go to him. I just thought him coming to me was too forward,” Minaj stated.

Minaj explained that she likes to have control over the romance and going to the rapper’s house allows for her to make an easy exit whenever she is ready to go.

The “No Frauds” artist went on to reveal that she and Nas have not been intimate. “I’m just chillin’ right now. I’m celibate. I wanted to go a year without dating any man. I hate men,” she stated.

Although she wants a take year to live the single life, the “Changed It” artist said she may be willing to bend her rules for Nas. “I might make an exception to the rule for him because he’s so dope,” Minaj told DeGeneres.

Dating rumors between Minaj and Nas erupted on May 9, when the rapper shared a photo of herself and the “Illmatic” artist cuddled up at a romantic dinner, “Only KINGS recognize QUEENS,” the rapper captioned the flirty photo.

From there, fans of the rappers began to tweet about the photo causing “Nas and Nicki” to trend on Twitter, with many shipping the new romance following Minaj’s breakup.

Minaj was previously in a relationship with rapper Meek Mill, however, the “Regret in Your Tears” artist announced their split on Jan. 5. “To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year,” Minaj tweeted.

The couple split following to heated argument during Minaj’s birthday weekend, according to TMZ. Sources told the media outlet that the pair was vacationing in Turks & Caicos when the rapper became upset because Meek Mill wasn’t paying attention to her. The two then got into an argument which resulted in the MMG rapper leaving the island and Minaj abruptly ending the relationship.

Although many thought the two would eventually find their way back to each other, it is clear that Minaj has found herself a new man.
