Nikki Bella ‘Tried To Fight’ Feelings For Artem Chigvintsev After John Cena Split

Following Nikki Bella’s break up with John Cena, she attempted to heal from the split by spending time alone and cutting herself off from love. However, she recently revealed that her decision almost made her miss her chance with her current fiancé Artem Chigvintsev.

In January, Bella revealed she was pregnant with her and Chigvintsev’s first child. The announcement came shortly after she revealed that the couple got engaged in November 2019.

Although the 36-year-old is thrilled about the exciting events happening in her life, she took a moment to reflect on the past. On Saturday Bella shared photos of herself and Chigvintsev during their “Dancing With the Stars” rehearsals and reflected on their relationship.

“They say love conquers all … and it sure does. So many people, in the beginning, said it was just lust, my feelings weren’t real, it was just the dance, the infatuation, the mystery of this person, but I knew & felt it was always more,” the “Total Divas” star captioned the Instagram photo.

“I listened to my heart, my soul, my body, I knew deep down that this was God’s gift, his answered prayer,” she continued.

Although she tried to ignore her feelings for Chigvintsev after her break up with Cena, Bella eventually stopped resisting her attraction to the dance pro.

“When I finally got the chance, & maybe because I was so broken, I tried to fight a very powerful love, deny it, walk away from it, & yet this beautiful gift of love wouldn’t let me walk away, this love that I always wanted,” she wrote.

“Now I didn’t expect to get so much of what I had been praying for in a year lol, but I finally opened up my eyes, my heart, & accepted this beautiful gift,” she added.

Bella went on to reveal that she and Chigvintsev will welcome their first child together in August. In a few days, fans will be able to get a closer look at the couple’s relationship when “Total Bellas” Season 5 premieres Thursday, April 2 at 9 p.m. EDT on E!
