NYC Halloween Parade 2019: Route Map, TV Info And Viewing Spots For New York Village Parade
It’s almost time to celebrate! New York City will be hosting its 46th annual Village Halloween Parade on Oct. 31. This year will see Zohra, The Giant Spider, and its creator, Master Puppeteer Basil Twist, acting as the 2019 event’s Grand Marshall. Find out everything else you need to know about the holiday event below.
Date and Time: The 2019 NYC Village Halloween Parade will take place on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. EDT.
Tickets: While not required, buying a $25 advance ticket does gain you access to a “secret entry point” and early admission to the parade. Ticket-holders will be treated to no lines, a special DJ, and a soundtrack for the in-parade party. A costume matching this year’s theme, Wild Thing, is required to join this section of the parade. You can purchase tickets here.
Non-Ticket Holders: Anyone wearing a costume is welcome to join the parade. The general line-up begins at 6:30 p.m. on 6th Avenue at Canal Street. (The exact GPS Coordinates for the entry point are 40.7218599,-74.005384.)
Route Map/Viewing Spots: The parade runs straight up 6th Avenue and ends at 16th Street. Those in attendance can expect the parade to run from 7-11 p.m. The sections of the route that are always the most crowded include spots between Bleeker Street and 14th Street.
Where to Watch: Those wanting to watch the Village Halloween Parade from home can tune into TV: NY1 from 8-10 p.m. EDT on Halloween night. “Spot coverage” can also be found on local, national, and international news programs, according to the event’s official page.
After-party: The fun won’t stop when the parade ends. Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street) will host the event’s official after-party this year. All four halls of the space will be transformed into a “twisted mausoleum filled with heart-pounding dance music,” the press release has teased. The party, which kicks off at 8 p.m. on Halloween, is for those 19 years of age and older. Tickets to the Webster Hell Halloween Party are on sale for $39.95 here. Day-of tickets will cost $40.
