Set to air from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, the special is narrated by Giancarlo Esposito, the actor who played the Magic Mirror/Sidney on the series.
"Emma Swan's journey into Storybrooke and her destiny to become the savior of the cursed fairytale characters is revisited, in anticipation of the exciting second-season premiere," boasts a statement from ABC on "Magic Is Coming."
The special explains that it will bring new and old viewers up to date and explore the series. If you're already all caught up on the hit show, then the network is giving you another reason to watch "Magic Is Coming" before the season premiere. Besides a sneak peek of what's to come in season two, the special promises to reveal back stories and secrets on some of your favorite characters, including Snow White, Prince Charming, Rumplestiltskin and Red Riding Hood, among many others.
Following the special "Magic Is Coming," fans will be able to once again get sucked into the fascinating town of Storybrooke, Maine, a town full of fairy tale characters who are just now beginning to remember who they are.
The premiere episode is called "Broken," and rightfully so. "Broken" will pick up right where the season one finale left off, with Emma breaking the curse that the Evil Queen placed on the fairy tale characters, and the townspeople regaining memories of their previous lives.
ABC released an official description of the premiere episode, and it appears that fans will be meeting some of the new characters to the series sooner than later.
"Reality and myth begin to merge as the fairytale characters awaken from evil Queen Regina's broken curse. Magic is introduced to Storybrooke, and Prince Phillip awakens his sleeping beauty, Aurora, but discovers that he and traveling companion Mulan will soon have to face a deadly foe."
Sarah Bolger and Jamie Chung will guest star as Aurora and Mulan, respectively. Julian Morris of "Pretty Little Liars" will be playing Prince Phillip.
