‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 4 Spoilers: Episode 4 Sneak Peek Video Teases Date Night Trouble For Hook And Emma

Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) may be feared in the pirate world, but he’s got a much different reputation in Storybrooke. “Once Upon a Time” fans know Hook as a sweet, caring and misunderstood man. For the past few seasons, Hook has patiently stood at Emma’s (Jennifer Morrison) side while she battled internal demons, and fought fairytale foes. After chasing the girl for months, Hook will finally get his payday in episode 4 when Emma asks him out on a date. But will his past stand in the way of their future? That’s the question that the sneak peek video from Season 4 asks.

As we previously reported, the one handed pirate wants to get his hand reattached before his big date. He’ll turn to his old enemy, Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyl) for a chance to be able to “embrace” Emma with both his hands. However, magic always comes with a price.

In the episode 4 sneak peek video, Rumpel/ Mr. Gold walks into the pawnshop to find Hook sitting on the counter and ready to make another deal in return for his silence on the “dagger issue.” Needless to say, Mr. Gold doesn’t appreciate being threatened -- especially when his happiness with Belle is at stake.

“Tread carefully,” Mr. Gold warns Hook. “I might just take your other hand.”

“It’s funny you say that,” Hook responds. “Because my hand is exactly what I’m here about.

It turns out Hook’s left hand is one of the many items in Mr. Gold’s possession at the pawnshop. The severed hand has been patiently waiting for Hook in a jar … ready to be reattached at any moment. But in usual “Once Upon a Time” form, there is a pretty major catch to it being reattached.

When Mr. Gold asks why Hook wants his hand reattached, the pirate opens up about wanting to “hold” Emma “should things go well.”

“Oh, I see blackmail brings out the romantic in you,” Mr. Gold says, slightly amused at Hook’s request. “But this hand may bring out the worst. … This hand used to belong to the man you used to be -- [a] cunning, selfish pirate. If I reunite this with your body there is no telling what influence it could have on you.”

Hook’s not concerned about Mr. Gold’s warning -- but it seems the hand might cause some trouble for Hook on his date with Emma. Watch the sneak peek video clip from “Once Upon a Time” Season 4 episode 4 below:
