"One Piece" 1024 will take fans back to the harsh and grim past of one of the iconic characters in Wano that many fans hope would soon be a part of the Straw Hat Pirates.
A new set of spoilers for "One Piece" 1024 is now available online, thanks to Redon of AP Forums and other insiders in the community. The upcoming chapter would reportedly tell the backstory of Yamato, a mysterious character currently helping Luffy in taking down the Emperor of the Sea Kaido.
Over the past manga releases, Yamato has been a constant figure helping the alliance and ever-ready to spare his life for the sake of Wano Kuni's freedom. But, it appears legendary mangaka Eiichiro Oda was not ready to unmask Yamato to the readers, until now.
"One Piece" 1024 would reportedly take fans back to a couple of decades following Kozuki Oden's tragic death. Fans would learn that Kaido imprisoned his son in a cave guarded by three powerful samurai.
What makes this more interesting is that according to the spoilers, one of the guards appears to be Shimotsuki Ushimaru. For those unfamiliar with Ushimaru, he was the last Daimyo of Ringo and the rumored father of Roronoa Zoro.
"One Piece" 1023 is titled "A Certain Someone" and this could be a clue about the presence of Ushimaru as a guard of the young, imprisoned Yamato. Did the last Daimyo of Ringo help shape Yamato's belief?
Kaido's son has Oden's journal and his profound admiration for the legendary samurai led him to embody everything about the former Daimyo of Kuri, including declaring himself as Oden.
With Ushimaru's presence in Yamato's childhood, it is possible the Daimyo has some influence on him, especially with the events that happened surrounding Oden's death. Did Ushimaru train Kaido's son?
What he was doing in that cave or his purpose for being there is anybody's guess. Yamato's adulation to Oden and Kaido's cruel treatment caused them to have a strained and spiteful relationship.
To control his son, Kaido placed explosive cuffs on Yamato, which will explode if he ever set her foot outside Wano Kuni. The spoilers also revealed that at the end of the panel, fans would see Kaido and Yamato simultaneously launching the Raimei Hakke attack.
"One Piece" 1024 is set to release Sunday.
