The new set of “One Piece” Chapter 988 spoilers revealed that one of Straw Hats’ swordsman would fight against an emperor. The previous chapter of the manga left the fandom with Kaido and the scabbards falling off the stage in the latter’s attempt to rescue Momonosuke. In the upcoming instalment, it looks like another emperor would be fighting one of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance members, and it is not who fans think it is.

“One Piece” Chapter 988: A Rematch

The new set of spoilers for “One Piece” Chapter 988 is courtesy of Talk OP of WorstGeneration. The upcoming chapter of the manga would reportedly showcase a rematch between Brook and Big Mom. After Luffy declared war against Big Mom, Kaido, Orochi and their subordinates, it looks like Brook and not Luffy would fight against one of the emperors of the sea.

In the Whole Cake Island arc, “One Piece” fans witnessed Big Mom and Brook’s first fight. Brook was easily overwhelmed by the Yonko and was mocked by treating him like he was a pet. However, even if Big Mom defeated Brook, he managed to inflict massive damge to Prometheus, a feat which Charlotte Linlin later praised.

It can be recalled that Brook was responsible for destroying Mother Carmel’s portrait. Big Mom swore that he would never forgive Brook for what he had done. It is possible that when the emperor saw Brook at Onigashima, she recalled the incident at Pudding and Sanji’s wedding, which would trigger the fight.

“One Piece” Chapter 988: Other Details

The upcoming chapter of the popular manga would reportedly have 17 pages. The cover story would feature Bege of the tank Pirates, according to the spoilers. “One Piece” Chapter 988, pages 2 to 4, would allegedly focus on Kaido, the Minks, and Jack, who reportedly arrived at the location.

“One Piece” Chapter 988 is scheduled to arrive on August 23. There would be a one-week break again after Chapter 988, which means “One Piece” Chapter 989 would arrive on September 6.
