Oppo unveiled its R7 and R7 Plus smartphones in May, but began selling them only in China. However, Oppo is now accepting preorders for the R7 in select international locations, including the U.S., with shipments to begin in early July.

The handset will reportedly sell for $399 for an unlocked version, with free shipping guaranteed on every order. The R7 is available in silver and gold. In addition, Oppo is reportedly offering the iLike Speed Metal headset free of charge to anyone who preorders an R7, notes Phone Arena.

The device comes bundled with a European charging plug. This means buyers in the U.S. will need an adapter to charge the handset. In addition, the handset does not support the U.S. 4G LTE bands. But it does work on the widely used 3G networks of AT&T and T-Mobile.

Anyone willing to set aside those inconveniences can purchase the device from the Oppo Style store. As for specifications, the handset comes with a 5-inch AMOLED display, packed with 1080-pixel screen resolution. The handset is super-thin at 6.3 millimeters and features a metal body. The phone is powered by an octa-core, 64-bit (Qualcomm Snapdragon 615) SoC and backed by 3 GB of RAM. On the software front, the device runs on Google's Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system (OS), along with the company’s own Color OS.

When it comes to camera specification, the Oppo R7 sports a solid 13-megapixel rear-facing unit, in addition to a killer 8 MP front-facing snapper for selfies. Furthermore, the phone comes equipped with 16 GB of in-built storage capacity with microSD flash memory card support for further expansion of up to 128 GB. Other key Oppo R7 features include a 2,320 mAh battery unit and dual-SIM support.
