‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Teases Season 3 Print Shop Scene
Sam Heughan enjoys joking with “Outlander” fans. The Jamie Fraser actor went on Twitter Sunday to talk about which Season 3 scene he is filming. It seems he and Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire, are shooting the print shop scenes, which fans of the books are very excited for. However, the actor couldn’t reveal much.
“Oh you know.... Just printing stuff,” he wrote on Twitter. The tease was enough to get his followers excited. The actor quickly asked fans if they wanted to see a video.
Of course, the people who are suffering through Droughtlander (the nickname for the Starz drama’s hiatus) want a video! However, it wasn’t exactly the clip they were hoping for. It’s just a video of an actual cat on a printer. You can see it here, but be aware that the video contains vulgar language.
This isn’t the first time Heughan has played with his followers’ emotions. Earlier this year, he claimed he was posting a photo of what Jamie will look like when “Outlander” shows him in the future. He actually posted a picture of Fat Bastard from “Austin Powers.”

Some may have been a little disappointed to realize it was a joke. After all, readers of Diana Gabaldon’s “Voyager” know that the print shop scene is pivotal. Jamie will be running a printing business, and it’ll be in his shop that he and Claire reunite for the first time in 20 years.
It isn’t clear which episode of “Outlander” Season 3 will have the reunion, though. Heughan and Balfe have both noted that they’ve been filming separately often throughout the early episodes. It seems like the couple will be apart for at least the first couple installments of the drama.
“It’s always hard when we’re apart, actually, because she’s a great person, great to come to work with, and a very good actress,” Heughan told Vanity Fair in October. “But I think it all adds to the reunion — if there’s a reunion, or when there’s a reunion — well you know there’s one in the books. It should be very special.”
The married couple separated in Season 2 when Jamie sent Claire back to the future to save her from the Battle of Culloden. Twenty years after returning to her own time, Claire discovered that Jamie didn’t die in the battle, and she is determined to find her way back to the past to return to her daughter’s father.
“Outlander” Season 3 was rumored to be returning to Starz earlier in the year than it previously has, but no premiere date has been announced yet.
