KEY POINTS
- Paramount+ was launched on March 4
- Its subscribers can enjoy a wide array of content for as low as $4.99 per month
- "A Quiet Place 2" and "PAW Patrol" are included in its summer lineup
Paramount+ is establishing itself as a tough competition against other streaming platforms with its summer lineup. The streaming service revealed Monday that it would offer more than 2,500 titles this summer.
Paramount+ will exclusively premiere Antoine Fuqua's sci-fi movie "Infinite" on June 10. The movie, starring Dylan O'Brien, Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor, is an adaptation of D. Eric Maikranz's novel titled "The Reincarnationist Papers."
The official Twitter handle of Paramount+ shared the poster of the movie and wrote, "Two souls. Thousands of years. @MarkWahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor are #Infinite. Stream the new movie from director Antoine Fuqua this Thursday on #ParamountPlus. #BeInfinite."
The platform will also premiere Cal Brunker's animated movie for kids titled "PAW Patrol: The Movie" on Aug. 20. The movie will hit the theaters on the same day.
Although "A Quiet Place Part II" was already released in theaters on May 28, it will also be available on Paramount+.
The summer lineup is available to all U.S. subscribers of the Essential Plan, which is currently priced at $4.99 per month. Those who would like to get ad-free content can instead opt for the Premium Plan, which costs $9.99 per month.
"The breadth and depth of premium feature films and exclusive series coming to the service further strengthens our position in the market as a premium entertainment destination and, by offering this compelling content portfolio at an all-new low cost, makes us even more accessible to a wide consumer audience," Tom Ryan, president and executive officer of Viacom Streaming, the company which operates Paramount+, said.
The streaming platform will release action-adventure titles, too. They include Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Terminator: Dark Fate," which was originally released in 2019, and "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" starring Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner.
Critically acclaimed movies like "The Wolf of Wall Street" will also stream on the platform, as well as family and kids-oriented titles such as "The Addams Family," "Dora and the Lost City of Gold" and "The Adventures of Tintin and Charlotte's Web."
The Paramount+ streaming platform was launched on March 4 after the company rebranded CBS All Access, which was originally founded in 2014.
