The royal family is doing their best to recover and put on a united front following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal exit. However, Pippa Middleton went to great lengths to stay out of the spotlight amid the latest royal scandal.

Kate Middleton’s younger sister reportedly did her best to stay under the radar while trying to return home following a night out. According to a cab driver, Pippa lied about her identity when she ordered a car service to drive her home.

“She ordered a taxi for Lucy Middleton and kept ringing, asking if I was there yet because she was hiding in a dark doorway,” the cab driver told the Mail on Sunday.

“I later Googled the name and saw Lucy Middleton [Pippa’s cousin] in a picture with Pippa, and realized it was actually Pippa in my cab,” he added.

While it is unclear why Pippa tried to hide her identity, it wouldn’t be the first time that her ties to Kate Middleton have put her at the center of entertainment news.

Despite Kate and Pippa’s close relationship, royal reporter Emma Cowing previously claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge was jealous of her little sister before she married Prince William.

“There is, allegedly, some jealousy between the pair. Kate was always quite jealous of Pippa, she wrote in the Scotsman.

“I sensed that she feared being eclipsed by her because Pippa has more natural effervescence, she is socially much more at ease and was always popular with everyone, especially (brother) James’ friends,” Cowing noted.

However, the jealousy didn’t stop Kate from inviting Pippa to be a part of one of the most important days of her life. Pippa was seen tending to the train on Kate’s wedding dress ahead of the 2011 ceremony.

“Just as William and Harry are very competitive, Catherine and Pippa are very competitive. The day was Catherine’s day and Pippa played a significant walk-on part, that was it,” Princess Diana’s biographer, Andrew Morton wrote.

“I don’t think she stole the show. Pippa had an exotic walk-on part,” he added.

Although Kate and Pippa have both started families of their own, they have continued to maintain their close family relationships.
