Pope Francis: Front Pages Of The World’s Newspapers Celebrate New Pope [PHOTOS]
Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected by the papal conclave to become the new pope on Wednesday, March 14, 2013. Bergoglio took the name Pope Francis and with the historic announcement, the front pages of the world’s newspapers were dedicated to the new pope.
Pope Francis is the first pope from Latin America, and his native country of Argentina celebrated the announcement. Below you can find out how United States, Argentinian, Italian and German newspapers celebrated the election of Pope Francis.
