Porn star Ginger Banks has accused director John Stagliano of sexually assaulting her during the filming of 2018's "Cam Girls: The Movie."
A number of sexual assault claims have flooded the porn industry in recent weeks, with Banks being the latest to speak out on her experience. Banks confirmed to AVN that she has already filed a police report against the adult film director and producer for unwanted and non-consensual touching.
“It’s 100 percent considered sexual battery,” Banks told AVN. “I signed up for a girl/girl scene. The second he starts touching my t--s and my a-- — I don’t care how many times he’s done this before — it’s wrong.”
Banks shared that she filed a report in West Hollywood in late May and spoke with detectives on June 17.
Elaborating on the incident, Banks confessed that she had been "confused about what happened" on the set of "Cam Girls" at the time. She was allegedly also pressured into moving on from the incident and was told to just be "grateful" for the opportunity to appear in the film. This, and the fear of public backlash, was what prevented her from speaking up about the assault earlier.
"I didn’t want to open myself up to be attacked anymore, even though deep down I knew the truth," Banks said. “I was in denial. I was being gaslit into believing this stuff was normal.”
When asked about Banks’ claims by the trade publication XBIZ, Stagliano referred to a YouTube interview where he said that she had all the rights to say “no.”
“We’re all assuming that you’re an adult and you can just say ‘no’ when you don’t want to do something instead of say, ‘Well, I didn’t really want to do it. Oh, the pressure [pretend crying]. Oh, help me.’ Well, say ‘help me!’” the director said.
This is not the first time an adult film star has come out with sexual assault allegations.
Back in 2018, Banks’ “Cam Girls: The Movie” co-star Jenny Blighe also alleged that porn actor Manuel Ferrara strangled her and used excessive force during a shoot.
Reacting to these allegations, which resurfaced earlier this month, Ferrara said he wasn't aware that Blighe had not been happy with her experience with him. He also claimed that the signals Blighe was sending told a completely different story.
“All involved are smiling, laughing, and communicating how happy they are with the experience in the moment,” he wrote in a statement, Jezebel reported. “I am not more clairvoyant than anyone else who was present that day. I regret that Jenny’s experience in hindsight was not what she wanted it to be, but given the messages she was sending, I see no way that we could have known to change it.”
