Lucy Hale shared her close encounter with Meghan Markle and how they almost starred on one show together.
The “Pretty Little Liars” actress met Markle years before the latter became a duchess. According to Hale, they worked on an unaired pilot. She was mesmerized by Markle’s beauty, but she never spoke with the duchess because she didn’t have any scenes with her.
“I didn’t realize this because none of my scenes were with her, but it was an ABC pilot. I had just moved to Los Angeles. I was like 16,” Hale told Entertainment Tonight.
“It was called ‘Secrets of a Small Town,’ and she was in that pilot. I remember at the table read I was like, ‘Oh my god, she's so beautiful,’ but I don’t think I ever spoke to her."
She also shared that she never met Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, and jokingly added, “Only in my dreams.”
Markle has an impressive resume. The Mirror obtained a copy of her one-sheet and learned that the duchess is well-trained in martial arts and kickboxing. She can also do ballet, jazz and tap dancing. Furthermore, Markle can speak multiple languages including Spanish and French.
Aside from acting, Markle is known for her talent in calligraphy. In fact, she supported her budding Hollywood career by working at Paper Source, a small shop for decorative papers and custom stationery in Beverly Hills.
She used to teach a two-hour calligraphy class and also did calligraphy for celebrity correspondence. Markle even did wedding invites for major stars including former couple Paula Patton and Robin Thicke, who were very happy with her work.
“I just thought Meghan did a beautiful job,” Patton told Town & Country.
“It really is a lost art, and it was so nice to create something without a device that doesn't use a battery or need to be plugged in.”
In related news, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Prince Harry and Markle have always wanted to be international royals. And so living outside the U.K. and working overseas have always been in the cards for them. However, she was surprised by how fast they were able to accomplish it.
