Prince Charles Dubbed 'Pampered Prince,' Difficult To Please With 'Bizarre' Demands
Prince Charles has been dubbed as a "pampered prince."
The Prince of Wales enjoys a life of luxury as a royal. In a tell-all documentary on Amazon Prime titled "Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm," it was revealed that Prince Charles has a number of helpers to cater to his every whim.
According to Matthew Kirkham, a journalist for Express, the heir to the throne is difficult to please and has some "bizarre" demands. Prince Charles would reportedly ask someone to do even the smallest things for him.
Princess Diana's former royal butler Paul Burrell even claimed that Prince Charles "has his valets squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning." "Grown up in such a privileged lifestyle, he doesn't have the mechanics to choose for himself anymore," Burrell explained. "Everything is done for him."
Burrell also recalled an incident when Prince Charles called him to do a very simple task that the royal himself could have easily done, himself. "On one occasion, he rang me from his library and he said ‘Oh Paul, a letter from the Queen seems to have fallen into my wastepaper bin. Would you pick it out?" Burrell said.
Prince Charles making outrageous demands isn't surprising anymore. According to Tom Bower in his book "Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles," the Duke of Cornwall wanted his entire bedroom to be moved when he travels.
In one trip, Prince Charles reportedly sent his staff to the destination a day earlier with a truck carrying furniture "to replace the perfectly appropriate fittings in the guest room." The truck was filled with Prince Charles and Camila's complete bedroom set including the prince's orthopedic bed.
In addition, Prince Charles brought his lavatory seat, rolls of Kleenex, premium comfort lavatory paper and two landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.
The Duchess of Cornwall had learned to mimic this attitude from her husband. In fact, Camilla also made outrageous travel demands during their trips abroad. In fact, when Camilla is invited to a dinner party, she reportedly sends the host a list of food that she likes and dislikes. On the other hand, Prince Charles usually has people deliver organic food to the host.
