A snap of the Prince and Princess of Wales taken shortly before their royal wedding was shared on Instagram. According to the caption, it was taken on the royal family’s Balmoral Estate at Craigowan Lodge when Princess Diana showed off her Hunter wellies and Fair Isle sweater.

Although Prince Charles and Princess Diana are standing beside each other, the netizens see how distant they are. Princess Diana is looking straight up while Prince Charles is facing another direction. The future king appears to be staring at something behind Princess Diana.

“Sadly, I see a photo of a young couple, a man that looks the other way, rather than admiring and hugging his bride to be,” one user commented.

Another Instagram user pointed out how Prince Charles was “never present” for Princess Diana before adding that the royal just ruined her life.

Many believe that Prince Charles never loved Princess Diana because Camilla Parker Bowles has been the love of his life. Prince Charles and Camilla dated before they married their spouses, but their previous romances were short-lived.

Prince Charles had to leave for his royal duties. Meanwhile, Camilla wasn’t sure if he would marry her because the royal family wasn’t rooting for her. She was deemed as a woman with experience and Prince Charles’ family was obsessed with finding a virgin bride for him.

Camilla didn’t wait for Prince Charles’ return and married her first husband Andrew Parker Bowles. The future king tried to persuade her not to push through with the wedding, but she did. So, Prince Charles looked for another woman, found Princess Diana and married her.

According to Andrew Morton in his biography for Princess Diana, Prince William once confronted her mom with an emotional and shocking question about her relationship with his father. The Duke of Cambridge asked Princess Diana if Prince Charles never loved her. The Princess of Wales told him that they loved each other during the early stage of their marriage.
