Is Prince Harry Engaged To Meghan Markle? Couple To Announce Engagement: Report

For months there have been rumors surrounding the status of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship, but now it looks like the couple is finally taking steps to confirm just how committed they are to their relationship.

According to Us Weekly, the two, who have been dating for 15 months, are expected to make an official engagement announcement “soon.” Sources close to the prince and Markle believe that the pair are already engaged. Insiders think that the royal has proposed to his girlfriend in private and is simply enjoying the time they have together before the news gets out.

The royal’s plan has always been to share the engagement with his parents first “so he could enjoy it before word spread,” however, the two won’t be able to keep things a secret for long.

Earlier this month, a source told E! News the couple’s engagement was imminent. “While Meghan may not be wearing a ring or a formal engagement announced, it's fair to say they’re as good as engaged now. They’ve spoken about their marriage plans openly with each other and friends and family around them are pretty much thinking about wedding attire already,” the insider said.

While Markle and the royal are eager to spend their lives with one another, they were never in a rush to share their relationship publicly.

“We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship,” the actress told Vanity Fair.

However, Markle seemed confident that their love would last a long time. “We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time,” she said.

Sources explained to Us Weekly that Prince Harry and Markle may announce their engagement as soon as next month, when the actress finishes filming her seventh and final season of her USA Network show “Suits.”

The insider revealed that the couple is holding off on announcing the engagement for Markle’s safety. “It’d be a security nightmare to do it sooner,” a friend close to the star said.

The insider claimed that the announcement will more than likely be made once Markle moves into Kensington Palace. After she wraps up filming the actress is expected to “relocate to London for sure.” Once she is settled, the star will be able to participate in what an insider refers to as “a detailed media rollout.”

Sources believe that following Prince Harry and Markle’s engagement announcement, the two “will most likely hold a small photocall at Kensington Palace, with just one photographer and journalist invited.”

The photos will be followed by a chat with a member of the press. “On the same day, they’ll do a TV interview that will be syndicated around the world,” the insider added.

Although the couple seems excited to finally start a future together, it looks like they gave a lot of thought to how they want to present their love for one another to the world.
