Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are engaged!

Finally, the "Suits" actress' engagement to Prince Harry is confirmed. The royal prince did not wait for a grand event to get down on his knee. Prince Harry popped the big question to Markle at the Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace earlier this month while the couple was trying to roast a chicken.

"It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got down on one knee," Markle said (via CNN). "As a matter of fact, I could barely let you finish proposing. I said, 'Can I say yes now?'"

"There was hugs and I had the ring in my finger. I was like, 'Can I give you the ring?' She goes, 'Oh, yes! The ring!'" Prince Harry added.

Markle's fiancé added that it was "a really nice moment" because "it was just the two of us, and I think I managed to catch her by surprise as well." Aside from sharing how the proposal happened, the couple also opened up how their romance started.

According to Prince Harry, he was surprised when he saw Markle and felt that he needed to up his game. Both admitted that it was not an easy set up for them as the actress was busy filming "Suits" in Toronto. But eventually, they were able to set another date. Markle joined Prince Harry in Botswana and they camped under the stars for five days.

Prior to Prince Harry and Markle's engagement announcement, there were already rumors that the couple will be confirming their relationship status this week. In fact, the media was expecting them to announce their engagement last week. Several TV crews were set up outside the palace in anticipation of the lovers' big reveal, but it did not happen until Monday.

Last Tuesday, the "Horrible Bosses" star was spotted shopping at King's Road in Chelsea. Prince Harry was apparently missing on the said sighting, but many noticed that the actress was guarded by the Met Police's Protection Command. According to sources, it was a hint that Markle and Prince Harry are already engaged because Kate Middleton only received the same treatment following her secret engagement to Prince William.
