Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Using Clever Trademark To Separate From Royal Family
Earlier this year, Prince William and Kate Middleton announced their split with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The separation will allow the couples to focus on their separate paths, but it appears the former “Suits” star has plans for the future.
New reports claim the couple has trademarked 100 items in an attempt to diversify the Sussex name. The “Sussex Royal” brand will include newspapers, clothing, footwear and more.
According to The Sun, the Intellectual Property Office shows that Meghan and Harry have also put their trademark on “health and wellness training, education and training relating to nature, conservation and the environment, organizing youth training schemes and training sports coaches.”
The couple will also use their brand to help the community with “social care services, namely organizing and conducting emotional support groups, counseling, mentoring, and personal care services.”
In September, Meghan released a special collection to benefit Smart Works. The organization helps underprivileged women secure employment. For each item purchased from the capsule collection, an article of clothing was donated to the charity.
For those who are interested in purchasing more apparel with Meghan’s personal touch, the “Sussex Royal” brand has trademarked “jackets, anoraks, trousers, hooded tops, bandanas, socks, gloves, and sportswear.”
Royal watchers can also look forward to magazines, books, posters, calendars, and more printed material from the couple.
For now, Prince Harry and Meghan have only made plans to expand their brand. The palace has not made an official announcement suggesting products made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be available on the market.
