Prince Harry, Meghan, William, Kate Can Only Be This Affectionate In Public
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Prince William and Kate Middleton do not have to follow certain etiquette rules when it comes to public displays of affection.
However, they are also not allowed to show extreme PDA when they are outdoors. Myka Meier, an etiquette expert, told People that the older royals have the discretion to know how much PDA they can show to the world.
“Senior members of the royal family would likely not be told how to interact or when they can or cannot show PDA and would be trusted to use their better judgment as to when it’s appropriate. The royals often adjust PDA to mirror the formality of the event they are attending. At a somber or more formal event, we are less likely to see PDA than at a casual event where it would be deemed more fitting,” she said.
Meier also said that it is important to note that when Prince Harry, Markle, Prince William, and Middleton are out, it means that they are on an official engagement. This isn’t the case with Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, who was recently seen showing their affection towards each other.
“It’s also important to note that when attending official events on behalf of the royal family, royals are taking on professional roles, versus being on their own private time, which the recent photos of Mike and Zara Tindall not on official royal duty would be an example of,” she added.
According to the publication, as soon as Markle and Prince Harry went public with their romance, they never shied away from showing how much they love each other. Prince William and Middleton, on the other hand, are not as expressive in public as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
But every now and then, Prince William was also seen holding hands with his wife.
