Tom Hardy Follows Prince Harry’s ‘Code Of Silence’ Among His Friends
Tom Hardy recently opened up about his friendship with Prince Harry.
The 40-year-old actor told Esquire that the 33-year-old prince is a legend and said that he flew to London straight following his filming in New Orleans to attend his and Meghan Markle’s nuptials.
Prince Harry and Hardy first met in 2010 after the latter became an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust. Since then, they have remained close friends. When asked to share details about the royal couple’s big day, Hardy said that it was a deeply private occasion and refused to say anything.
Katie Nicholl, a royal expert, previously told Vanity Fair that Markle and Prince Harry spoke with their friends and asked them to stop talking about their relationship with the press. This could be what Hardy did during his recent interview.
“They both expect a code of silence. If you talk to the press you’re out. Harry didn’t use to care that much about what was written in the press, he just said it was a load of s***, but he’s very protective of Meghan and defensive these days,” Nicholl said.
But on May 19, Hardy paid tribute to Prince Harry and Markle by uploading their wedding photo on his Instagram account. The actor captioned the snap with a bunch of colorful emojis including one with the word boss.
According to People, Prince Harry and Hardy have also been spotted in several public outings together. They previously made a cameo in “Star Wars” with Prince William, but their scene didn’t make the final cut for the big screen.
The two friends were also photographed mingling at the Audio Polo Challenge in London two years ago as Prince Harry and Prince William played on Team Audi Ultra. Unfortunately, the pals are unable to spend as much time together as they used to. Hardy is currently promoting his new film, “Venom,” and Prince Harry is busy with his royal engagements.
