Prince Harry Reportedly Made A ‘Romantic Promise’ To Ex-Girlfriend Chelsy Davy Before Meeting Meghan

Prince Harry considered his relationship with Chelsy Davy as something serious, and they also thought that they would end up together.

Unfortunately, the couple called it quits shortly after they attended Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding. According to reports, Davy realized that the royal life was not for her so she decided to end their relationship.

But before they broke up, the Duke of Sussex made a romantic promise to his then-girlfriend. In 2010, Prince Harry made a significant declaration of love to Davy by giving her a ring.

Even though the blue topaz ring wasn’t necessarily an engagement ring, royal author Katie Nicholl told the publication that it meant Prince Harry was serious about Davy.

“Chelsy and Harry are very serious and in love. She has started wearing the blue topaz ring he gave her for one of her birthdays which is very special to her,” Nicholl said.

Sources close to Davy were quick to deny the rumors that she and Prince Harry already got engaged. They said that Davy’s not that sort of girl.

“She wants to travel the world and have some fun. But she and Harry have pledged their commitment to one another and they have both said this is it, they want to be together,” the source said.

Years after their split, Davy described her experience of being chased by the paparazzi simply because she was dating Prince Harry as “full-on crazy, scary, and uncomfortable.” She also said that she struggled to cope with the attention that she received that she ended up choosing her privacy over love.

Prince Harry and Davy stayed friends even after their split. In fact, the latter was invited to the former and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding in 2018. As of late, it is still unclear if Markle had the chance to meet Davy before her wedding but Prince Harry and his ex-girlfriend reportedly spoke on the phone prior to the big day.

According to Nicholl, Prince Harry and Davy agreed that they have both moved on from each other during their final parting call.
