Prince Harry Reportedly Racked Up $38K Bill In Vegas But Didn’t Pay
Prince Harry reportedly racked up a bill of over $38,000 during a party in Las Vegas years ago, but he didn’t pay a single cent for it.
Royal biographer Katie Nicholl appeared on Channel 5’s “Spending Secrets of the Royals” and said that Prince Harry’s costly expenses that night were covered by the billionaire owner that waived the bill for the royal. Prince Harry was staying at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas in 2012 when he accumulated the huge amount from his drinking and other things. Steve Wynn, the owner of the hotel, was there at the time, and he just wiped the slate clean for the Duke of Sussex.
According to Nicholl, that was not the only time that Prince Harry didn’t have to pay a bill. In 2007, he went on a night out in London’s Mayfair, and he tried to pay with his army identity card. He was also with his then-girlfriend Chelsy Davy that time.
“The barman called for the manager to see exactly what to do about this transaction and the bill was waived,” Nicholl said.
Meanwhile, Ingrid Seward, a royal expert and editor of Majesty magazine, said on the show that Prince Harry was, and probably still is, the party boy of the royal family. She said that Meghan Markle’s husband just loved to go out drinking with his mates, and he also enjoyed clubbing.
But it seems that Prince Harry’s extravagant spending habits were only a warm-up for what turned out to be the most expensive day of his life – his wedding day. According to Nicholl, the Duke of Sussex and Markle’s wedding cost over $41 million.
“The majority would have gone on security, which was the biggest single expenditure. £286,000 ($368,000) or whereabouts was spent on catering for the evening event, £193,000 ($248,000) on drink alone, a further £100,000 ($128,000) on the flowers which beautifully adorned St. George’s Chapel and then £387,000 ($499,000) on Meghan’s wedding dress,” she said.
