Prince Harry Should ‘Complement’ Prince William; Meghan Markle’s Husband Was Brother’s ‘Secret Weapon’

Prince Harry and Prince William were expected to always be by each other’s side before the former announced that he will no longer be working as a senior royal.

While speaking with People, royal author Penny Junor said that the idea of the courtiers was that Prince Harry and Prince William would be shoulder to shoulder when the Duke of Cambridge ascends the throne.

“He would pick up the bits that William wouldn’t be as good for. They would be complimentary side-by-side throughout their lives. That was a lovely picture. Harry was the secret weapon, really,” she explained.

When Prince Harry was still young, he already knew that his future role would be different from Prince William. The dad of three was always regarded as the heir, while his younger brother was the spare.

According to Junor, being the spare is not necessarily good for one’s self-confidence. And the fact that Prince Harry was always compared to Prince William didn’t help him either.

“William was the good looking one, the important one, the clever one. Harry was the also-ran. I think that did take a toll on him,” she said.

Meanwhile, reports about an alleged feud between the royal siblings have been rife ever since Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle. And according to “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan, the royal siblings haven’t patched things up.

Tom Bradby, who interviewed the Sussexes for the documentary “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” said there are a lot of people who would want to see the royal siblings close again. But it is unclear if this could happen soon.

After Prince Harry and Markle’s exit, Prince William released a statement saying that he has put his arm around his brother all our lives, but he couldn’t do it anymore because they are separate entities.

But at the end of the day, Prince William is still supportive of Prince Harry.
