Prince Philip made a savage comment when he welcomed his firstborn.

Earlier this week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their baby boy. On Wednesday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the public debut of their baby, named Archie.

Due to the arrival of the newest member of the royal family, the births of some royals were revisited. According to Martina Bet of Express, the Duke of Edinburgh actually made a “savage comment” after Prince Charles’ birth.

In 1948, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip welcomed their firstborn, Prince Charles. According to the 2013 documentary “The Royals,” the 97-year-old senior royal casually met his newborn son and said that the Prince of Wales looked like a “plum pudding.”

“Prince Philip was quite a hard-hearted dad,” royal author Philip Dampier said of the Queen’s husband.

“He was actually busy playing squash when Prince Charles was born and when he was told, he just went for a quick swim after the game of squash, and rushed upstairs to see his newborn son and just said to the Queen, ‘he looks like a plum pudding’.”

It remains unknown how Prince Philip reacted to baby Archie, but the new parents Prince Harry and Markle are very delighted with the new addition to their family.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are also very happy about baby Archie’s arrival. The couple shared the news on Instagram and said that they were looking forward to meeting the latest addition to the royal family.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were criticized because they didn’t share the news the moment Markle gave birth. Kensington Palace waited for 10 hours before they posted about baby Archie’s arrival.

Some fans defended Prince William and Middleton, saying that they don’t personally post on social media. The couple left that job to their staff. Another said that perhaps they waited so as not to steal the baby’s thunder.

In related news, George Clooney reacted to Markle’s date of delivery. According to the “Ocean’s Eleven” actor, it was a “little irritating” because Prince Harry and Markle’s son stole his thunder. Clooney was apparently joking and said that he was very happy for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before adding that they are a “lovely couple.”
