Prince William Didn’t Snub Meghan Markle At Christmas, Body Language Expert Explains

Prince William didn’t snub his sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, during their Christmas walk.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were rumored to be feuding. However, they ended the speculations about their falling-out when they reunited for the royals’ traditional annual Christmas Day service.

Things didn’t end well because days after the said outing, a video of Prince William seemingly snubbing Markle surfaced online. But body language expert Judi James doesn‘t agree with the common observation.

“The ‘moment’ between William and Meghan did depend on their proximity and her eye gaze,” James explained. “On the surface, it looked as though she turned around to smile at William while he kept himself busy tucking his scarf into his coat and her face did appear to have dropped as she turned back.”

“But she could have been smiling at Kate rather than William, meaning he might genuinely have been out of the conversational loop at that particular point,” the expert added.

James also pointed out how keen Prince William is in avoiding any public emotional displays that might draw attention from the press. The Duke of Cambridge is quite aware of the dramas involving his parents Prince Charles and Princess Diana in the press and doesn’t want to replicate it. So, if he was avoiding something on that outing, it was not Markle, but the attention of the press.

Many netizens were also not convinced about the snubbing incident and defended Prince William. Some Twitter users felt that there was actually no conversation between Prince William and Markle and the Duke of Cambridge was just fixing his scarf when Markle looked his way in the corner of her eyes.

On the said outing, James also noticed how friendly Markle and Middleton were. The two duchesses were seen smiling and chatting. However, the expert said that they just put on a united front for the cameras.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry appeared distant. The royal brothers didn’t talk or look at each other’s way. They both placed their hands in their pockets, making them look “ill at ease.”
