Prince William Felt This After Meeting Kate Middleton For The First Time
Prince William instantly knew that Kate Middleton was special when he met her for the first time.
According to Marcia Moody in her 2013 book “Kate: A Biography,” the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s romance began at the University of St. Andrews. The campus was small and Prince William and Middleton were on the same course and living in the same building, so it didn’t take long for them to finally meet each other.
When Prince William saw Middleton, he admitted that he instantly saw how special she was.
“When I first met Kate I knew there was something very special about her,” Prince William said. “I knew there was something I wanted to explore there, but we ended up becoming friends for a while.”
Moody added that Prince William and Middleton kept bumping into one another on the campus and they took a “shine to each other from very early on.” They joked, bantered and bonded over things they shared in common.
In their engagement interview, Prince William and Middleton opened up about their romance. Middleton admitted that she was very shy when she met the royal prince for the very first time.
“I actually went bright red when I met you and scuttled off feeling very shy about meeting you,” Middleton confessed.
The royal mom of three explained that Prince William wasn’t there from Fresher’s Week, so it took a bit of time for them to know each other. However, they eventually became very close friends.
According to previous reports, there was a particular event that made Prince William realize his friend Middleton was really “hot.” In 2002, Middleton joined the annual Don’t Walk charity fashion show.
Middleton was tapped to model a see-through dress with a black bra and underwear set by Charlotte Todd. When Prince William saw Middleton on the runway, he was stunned and reportedly told his friend Fergus Boyd, “Kate’s hot.”
Prince William reportedly attempted to kiss Middleton after the event, but she pulled away. Middleton didn’t want to give the royal a wrong impression and she didn’t want to make it too easy for Prince William.
Prince William and Middleton got married in 2011. They are now parents to three adorable royal children: 5-year-old Prince George, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte and 10-month-old Prince Louis.
