Prince William Had This Awkward Encounter With ITV Weather Presenter Lucy Verasamy
ITV’s weather presenter Lucy Verasamy recently revealed that she had an awkward encounter with Prince William last year in Switzerland.
While speaking with Daily Mail, the 38-year-old detailed her encounter with the future King. “One evening, we were lucky enough to grab a massive corner sofa overlooking the bar, have a couple of glasses of champagne and some nibbles. The following night, we returned a little later than we planned and discovered that Prince William and his friends had poached our favorite spot. You snooze, you lose,” she said.
In March of last year, Prince William went to Switzerland on a ski trip with his friends. He was also photographed partying at the Farinet club. Verasamy, on the other hand, regularly travels to different parts of the world and shares photos of her vacations on social media.
She told the publication that she recently learned how to play golf. “Before then, I hadn’t even picked up a club, let alone swung one at a ball. I’m still relatively new to it all and, after a fair few lessons, I think it’s pretty safe to say I need quite a few more. I’m consistently inconsistent,” she said.
In related news, Prince William also made headlines this week after the real reason why he doesn’t wear a wedding ring was revealed. Royal biographer Penny Junor told Vogue that Prince William doesn’t like to wear jewelry so he opted not to wear a wedding ring when he tied the knot to Kate Middleton in 2011.
“He doesn’t like jewelry, and the palace issued a statement before their wedding saying so,” he said.
Daily Mail's royal reporter Rebecca English also weighed in on why Prince William doesn’t wear a wedding ring.
“It was something the couple discussed but Prince William isn’t one for jewelry – he doesn’t even wear a signet ring – and decided he didn’t want to. It really is just down to personal preference,” she said.
Prince Harry, on the other hand, opted to wear a wedding ring when he wed Meghan Markle at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19.
