Prince William paid tribute to Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha after the latter died following a helicopter crash.

The Duke of Cambridge said that he was lucky to have known the businessman and praised him for his dedication to his family. He also recounted the time they won in the Premier League.

“I was lucky to have known Vichai for several years. He was a businessman of strong values who was dedicated to his family and who supported a number of important charitable causes. He made such a big contribution to football, not least through Leicester City’s magical 2016 season that captured the imagination of the world. He will be missed by all fans of the sport and everyone lucky enough to have known him,” Prince William said (via The Sun).

Kensington Palace also confirmed that Prince William recently flew with pilot Eric Swaffer, who was also killed in the crash. Srivaddhanaprabha’s helicopter came down in a car park behind the King Power Stadium following a Premier League game between Leicester and West Ham last weekend.

Beauty queen Nusara Suknamai and right-hand man Kaveporn Punpare also died in the disaster. Swaffer’s girlfriend, Izabela Roza Lechowicz also passed away.

In related news, Prince William also made headlines this week after it was reported that he and Prince Harry will soon have a formal division. The decision has to do with Meghan Markle’s pregnancy.

A source said, “William and Harry’s double act has naturally been supplanted by the two couples and their families. The brothers have leaned on each other and looked after each other since their mother died. But now they have their own families, they no longer rely on each other as before,” the source told Express journalist Paul Withers.

The insider also said that when Prince William becomes the Prince of Wales, he will take on more responsibilities. Prince Harry and Markle won’t follow the same path so it would be difficult for them to work together.

“If you have one private office trying to manage both, things get difficult,” the source said.

Prince William will become king after Prince Charles retires from being the head of the monarchy.
