Prince William, Kate Middleton's Favorite Food Includes This Japanese Dish
Prince William just revealed his and Kate Middleton's favorite Japanese dish.
On Thursday, the Duke of Cambridge stepped out to open a Japanese cultural center in London. He was joined by Japan's Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso at Japan House in Kensington High Street.
Prince William was treated to some traditional culinary delights where he sampled sake wine and salmon sashimi prepared by Akira Shimizu. At that point, Middleton's husband revealed that they both love sushi.
"Thank you very much. My wife and I love sushi. We might have to come down here for lunch," Prince William said (via People). "You must get a lot of Japanese visitors here. So do lots of people come in and ask for a burger? That’s what usually happens, doesn’t it?"
However, prior to sharing his favorite dish, Prince William made a royal blunder after confusing Japanese food with Chinese. The duke was quick to correct his mistake after realizing that he said the wrong word.
Prince William asked the children if they had eaten "much Chinese food" then correct himself "um, Japanese food. Have you had much Japanese food? No? Not too much. Do you like sushi? It’s delicious, it really is yummy."
A number of netizens understand Prince William's mistake. In fact, they didn't take it as a serious mistake. Also, the royal is just like anybody else that makes mistakes too from time to time.
"The way this is described in the article, it sounds like a totally normal slip of the tongue, and not even noteworthy, much less newsworthy..." one user wrote.
"To live under such circumstances where every mistake the Royals make becomes news is ridiculous!!! He's human!!!" Judy Poole wrote.
"He is human. Humans make mistakes," another user commented.
In related news, Prince William revealed the difficulties of being a first responder. According to the Duke of Cambridge, most of the time, he couldn't help but absorb other's pain and suffering.
"I took a lot home without realizing it," Prince William said. "You see [so] many sad things every day that you think life is like that. You're always dealing with despair and sadness and injury. The attrition builds up and you never really have the opportunity to offload anything if you’re not careful."
