Prince William and Prince Harry are reportedly two of the best bosses, according to their former chief of staff and press secretary.

Miguel Head, who worked for the royal siblings for 10 years, also said that the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex are incredibly close as brothers. Head didn’t have a hard time performing his duties because Prince William and Prince Harry are delightful to work for.

“They are the same in private as they are in public, very popular, and they have a genuineness about them, compassion about them which people relate to and respond to. Very seldom did we ever felt like we were fighting a rear guard,” he said.

Head resigned from his position in May 2018 after working for the royal siblings for a decade. Royal tradition states that 10 years is the length of service required for individuals who hold senior roles.

During his interview with The Harvard Gazette, the former chief of staff and press secretary shared what it’s really like working for royals. He said that he is always on call 24/7 because that’s the nature of his job.

“It is also one of the reasons why the royal family has a very strong tradition, which is if you’re in a senior position, you don’t do more than 10 years. It’s partly because it’s such an intense role that after that period of time, you’ve probably lost your perspective and you’re not so useful to them,” he said.

After 10 years, Head said that everything seems like a bubble. It becomes harder to say no, to challenge, and to give different points of view on what’s going on. This is the main reason why he left his post after 10 years.

In related news, Prince William and Prince Harry recently teamed up to launch a new helpline called Shout. The brothers have also involved their wives in their latest initiative.
