Prince William Reportedly ‘Wanted To Escape’ From Meghan Markle; Distancing Behavior Revisited
Prince William and Meghan Markle may not be feuding with each other, but this doesn’t mean that they are the best of friends.
In fact, a royal expert has claimed that the Duke of Cambridge wanted to distance himself from Prince Harry’s wife during their Christmas Day outing. Body language expert Darren Stanton said that Prince William’s body language at the time was quite interesting.
“Because as soon as he registers Meghan is beside him, he immediately distances himself over to his far right. This is called distancing behavior and is generally unconscious when someone’s in a situation they want to escape from,” he told Express.
According to the expert, physical or personal distance is one of the first things that a person will do when he wants to avoid someone. If someone is being lied to or challenged, distancing or defensive gestures will also become evident.
Meanwhile, Stanton also focused his attention on the fact that Prince William and Markle didn’t exchange dialogues with each other. The expert said that this was in stark contrast to last year when Prince William and Markle appeared to be too chatty with each other.
“There is clearly an issue as William was probably upset with Meghan if the rumors are true about Meghan and Kate having a feud,” he said.
However, Stanton’s observations were very much different from what body language expert Judi James told Express. According to her, there were no obvious indications of a feud between Prince William and Markle. However, they really didn’t have the chance to talk to each other.
James said that Prince William also stood a bit far away from Markle that’s why royal fans were convinced that they were at odds with each other. But it was actually Prince Harry that was awkward that morning. The Duke of Sussex place his hand inside his jacket, and he also had a frown on his face.
Prince William may have simply opted to talk to Markle at that time because it’s really not his style.
