Prince William Shockingly Admits He Couldn’t Beat Wife Kate Middleton In This Sport

Prince William could not beat his wife Kate Middleton in one particular sport.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are both competitive. However, there is one thing that Middleton excels and the future king couldn’t just beat her at it.

It’s not a secret that the Duchess of Cambridge is a huge tennis fan. In fact, before she married Prince William she would wait for hours just to get a ticket for Wimbledon. It turned out that the third in line to the throne couldn’t beat his wife in this sport.

Prince William talked with retired player Rod Laver and proudly shared how good his wife is at the sport. The duke admitted that he is not match to Middleton when they play tennis against each other.

“I’d met William and Kate a few times, and in the Royal Box you get a chance to chat with them a little bit,” Laver told Daily Mail. “They play tennis against each other. William told me he couldn’t beat her.”

In July 2017 during the royal couple’s tour of Poland and Germany, the duchess joked that she wanted to beat her spouse. "No pressure, but I do want to beat my husband,” Middleton said.

In 2013, Middleton was banned from watching Wimbledon finals. The duchess was heavily pregnant with Prince George and was so fond of the sport and has been excited to witness the tournament so she begged her doctor o allow her. However, she was told “definitely not.”

Middleton missed to witness Andy Murray’s victory against Novac Djokovic. But the duchess sent the winner a letter telling him sorry for missing it and congratulating him for his win at the same time.

Middleton considered Wimbledon a special event. She didn’t mind lining up for hours just to get a ticket for the tournament.

“Being able to go into Wimbledon and be part of an amazing atmosphere is special,” the royal mom-of-two shared. “It inspires young people including myself. Every time Wimbledon is on I am thinking ‘Yes, I could do the same’ and get out the racket. Sadly, not the same results.”
