Prince William’s First Project When He Becomes King Will Involve Princess Diana

Prince William will restore Princess Diana’s title.

The late Princess of Wales’ royal butler Paul Burrell believes that when the Duke of Cambridge takes over the throne, his first project will focus on restoring his late mother’s royal title. Princess Diana was stripped of her title following her divorce from Prince Charles.

“One day when William is king, the first thing he’ll do is restore his mother’s titles,” Burrell said in the 2017 Amazon Prime documentary “The Diana Story.”

Princess Diana was given a royal title when she married Prince Charles in 1981. However, when her divorce was finalized it was taken back. Queen Elizabeth II was reportedly fine with Princess Diana keeping the title, but Prince Charles blocked it.

If Prince William were to successfully restore Princess Diana’s, title it will “raise her into the position which she should have been raised to 20 years ago.” When Princess Diana was laid to rest on her family’s estate in the grounds of Althorp House her plaque read, “Diana Princess of Wales”. Burrell believes that it is just right to restore Princess Diana’s “Her Royal Highness” title.

“Why couldn’t they, in the last moment, have given her back her title? It wouldn’t have hurt anyone,” Burrell said.

Burrell also discussed the same matter in his book “A Royal Duty.” According to him, Prince William was attending Eton College when Princess Diana was stripped of her royal title. Despite his age back then, the Duke of Cambridge reportedly supported his mom emotionally and even promised her that he would give her back her title when he becomes king.

“Don't worry Mummy, I will give it back to you one day when I am king,” Prince William reportedly told Princess Diana.

Prince William and Prince Harry were very close to Princess Diana when she was still alive. They would reportedly spend their Saturday nights eating McDonald’s and watching TV. They also had lots of fun together because of their mom’s hilarious antics.

“One of her mottos to me was, ‘You can be as naughty as you want, just don’t get caught,” Prince Harry once said about Princess Diana. “She was one of the naughtiest parents.”
