Princess Beatrice has reportedly been in tears following Prince Andrew’s controversial interview.

Last week, the Duke of York had finally broken his silence about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal and his connection to it. The royal denied the claims that he had sex with Virginia Roberts, who was only 17 years old at the time.

Prince Andrew was hoping that by speaking out, he would be able to convince the public to understand his side. However, many royal fans believed that it would have been better if he hadn’t given the interview instead. According to an insider, his daughter Princess Beatrice was so affected by it that she had been crying since her father’s controversial interview aired.

Just recently, Princess Beatrice hosted her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s 36th birthday. According to one member of the princess’ circle, she was somber during the event.

“Beatrice was sombre and make-up-free for the birthday dinner,” the source told Daily Mail. “She was probably worried that her mascara would run. She seemed quite tearful at times. In fact, Beatrice has been in tears every day since the interview went out.”

According to sources, Princess Beatrice was aware of her father’s interview. In fact, she was there with him together with his then-private secretary Amanda Thirsk.

“Sarah [Ferguson] was abroad so Beatrice sat in on the discussions. Initially, Beatrice was skeptical that a television interview, which would inevitably delve into her father's private life, was such a good idea. She was asking lots of pertinent questions and had her doubts,” the source said.

At the end, Princess Beatrice was convinced that they should do the Newsnight team and Thirsk to end the rumors. Ferguson was reportedly always there in the background.

Another insider revealed that Ferguson was to blame for Prince Andrew’s car crash interview because it was her who advised her ex-husband to do it. The Duke and Duchess of York believed that the interview was the best way to clear Prince Andrew’s name and give his public image a “better chance of recovery.”

Unfortunately, Prince Andrew and Ferguson’s move was not effective as many were upset with the interview. One netizen even said that the duke ruined Princess Beatrice’s upcoming royal wedding.
