Princess Beatrice Snubs Meghan Markle, Prince Harry: Not Inviting Couple To Wedding

Princess Beatrice does not want to invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to her royal wedding.

Another royal is walking down the aisle. A few weeks ago, Buckingham Palace announced Princess Beatrice’s engagement to her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. According to Woman’s Day, the Windsor family is already at loggerheads over the invites because the bride doesn’t want to invite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are among the senior members of the royal family.

“Tension has been brewing between Harry and Meghan and the York girls for months now,” a palace source told the publication. “Beatrice has confessed to friends that if she gets her way, they won’t be invited.”

According to sources, Prince Harry and Markle’s rift with the Yorks started when the duchess debuted her baby bump at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding last October, and that stole the royal bride’s thunder in a way. Since then it has been a topic on social media.

“As soon as Harry and Meghan officially confirmed their pregnancy via Instagram as they began their tour to Australia days after Eugenie’s wedding, you'll recall that her mum [Sarah Ferguson] dropped a treasure trove of Eugenie's wedding pics just hours after,” a source added.

“It was obviously done on purpose as revenge.”

Meanwhile, Markle’s fans also questioned the timing of Princess Beatrice’s engagement announcement. The palace announced it while Prince Harry and Markle were in South Africa for an official visit and many felt that the newly engaged royal stole their thunder by doing so.

“The timing of Beatrice's announcement was incredibly rude, given it stole the spotlight back from the important causes Harry and Meghan were trying to promote. Of course, they were furious, but it's the kind of pettiness they've come to expect these days,” an insider said.

One royal fan defended Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughter. According to the netizen, Prince Harry and Markle’s visit to Africa was part of their job as full-time working royals and it was not a major life event. Thus, it’s not reasonable to hold off Princess Beatrice’s engagement announcement just because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were working.

Meanwhile, another netizen felt that Markle would take revenge. The online user claimed that the Duchess of Sussex would announce her second pregnancy in the run-up to Princess Beatrice’s big day.
