Princess Diana and Princess Anne weren’t close friends, but they agreed on one thing.

The Princess Royal and late Princess of Wales didn’t share a close bond. Reports have it that Princess Anne had no time for the People’s Princess. However, there’s one thing they agreed on and it had something to do with Princess Michael of Kent.

According to Channel 5’s documentary “Royals at War,” the two royals had a tense relationship but they shared the same “antipathy” for Princess Michael of Kent.

“Princess Michael of Kent is a princess in every sense of the word, and she wants to be treated like one,” royal commentator Victoria Arbiter said. “That makes her quite hard to identify with for the rest of the Royal Family.”

Princess Michael of Kent was born Marie-Christine von Reibnitz and she descended from Austrian royalty. She is married to Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin Prince Michael of Kent. According to Dickie Arbiter, Princess Anne found her “very assertive” so the Queen’s only daughter named her “Princess Pushy.”

On the other hand, Princess Diana had a different nickname for Princess Michael of Kent. Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom used to refer to her as the “U-Boat Commander,” which is a common knowledge in the palace.

“I didn’t think her relationship with the Royal Family was particularly friendly, there was an air of snobbery about her,” Princess Diana’s former security officer Ken Wharfe said of Princess Michael of Kent.

Princess Michael is the mother of Lady Gabriella Windsor, who is the next royal bride. According to Lady Gabriella’s ex-boyfriend, Aatish Taseer, her mom is racist. He added that Princess Michael doesn’t approve of commoners like Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

Taseer said that Princess Michael is a firm believer that it’s a bad idea for royalty to marry commoners. He also pointed out how Princess Michael named her two black sheep after African-American tennis sisters Venus and Serena Williams.

Back in December 2017, Princess Michael was slammed for being racist when she attended the royal’s annual Christmas lunch wearing a blackamoor brooch. Many deemed her accessory offensive especially since Markle is a woman of color and was present at the event.

Princess Michael immediately apologized following the backlash. According to her, the brooch was a gift and she has worn it many times before.
