Priyanka Chopra In Talks With ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Director; Will She Join Marvel Cinematic Universe?
“Avengers: Endgame” co-director Joe Russo is apparently hoping to work with Priyanka Chopra soon. The newlywed is in talks to work with the director on a new project.
“I’d love to work with Priyanka,” Russo told the Hindustan Times while in India on the “Endgame” press tour. “I’m smiling only because we’re potentially talking to her about something, I’m just not going to say what yet.”
Plenty of fans are already speculating which movie it could be. Could she star opposite Angelina Jolie in “The Eternals”? Would they put in in “Shang-Chi,” Marvel’s first movie with an Asian title character? However, it’s worth noting that the “we” Russo refers to doesn’t necessarily mean Marvel.
While Chopra has proven with both “Quantico” and “Baywatch” that she can be either an action hero or villain, Joe and Anthony Russo aren’t set to direct any more Marvel films after “Endgame.” They may, however, have projects in the works at other studios, and Chopra could be in talks for something unannounced.
The Russos have actually claimed to be taking a break from superhero movies after “Avengers: Endgame.” They also directed “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War,” so it’s safe to say that they’ve helmed their fair share of Marvel movies.
However, the brothers have admitted that they might not retire from superhero movies forever. During an event with Collider, the Russos revealed that they’d return if Marvel Studios wanted to adapt the Secret Wars storyline.
For now though, fans can get excited for “Avengers: Endgame,” out April 26.
