Producer Dr. Dre Reportedly Working On Eminem's Ninth Studio Album
The Hip Hop duo Dr. Dre and Eminem could be releasing new music soon. Dr. Dre is reportedly working on music for Eminem’s next studio album.
HBO documentary "The Defiant Ones" with Jimmy Iovine aired Sunday, and director Allen Hughes hinted that Dr. Dre was occupied with more than film work. In an interview with Uproxx published Friday, Hughes was asked about Dr. Dre and mentioned that the famous rap producer worked with Eminem on a forthcoming studio album.

"Dre still records. People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day," Hughes told Uproxx. "He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting. Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know? But I hear what you’re saying. It’s the truth."
While there hasn’t been an official announcement from the Detroit rapper himself about a follow-up to his last album MMLP2, there have been rumors online that suggested Eminem worked on new music. Fellow rapper 2 Chainz took to Instagram last month and posted a photo of himself and Eminem.
"Sooo this jus happened ......#marshalllikestrapmusic,” 2 Chainz wrote in a caption underneath the photo.
In an interview released Sunday, 2 Chainz talked with DJ Drama and confirmed that he and Eminem worked on a track together for what may be the rapper’s forthcoming album. Eminem reportedly reached out to 2 Chainz and wanted to work with him on a song. 2 Chainz talked about his response to the request.
"I’ve heard it all, you know what I’m saying? I’ve heard it all," 2 Chainz said. "You know, this like rap talk. It’s like, you see a rapper in the club and you’re like, ‘Let’s do one.’ It’s cap, you know what I mean? So you know, he’s like, ‘The boy wanna do something with you.’ And I’m like, Whatever."

2 Chainz said that Eminem reached out to him for the chance to do a remix for a song.
"I tell him straight up… Eminem, what would you need a remix for?" 2 Chainz said. "Remixes are used to carry records to No. 1 spots. When have you ever did a remix for someone or for yourself? That’s cap at it’s finest."
Eminem flexed his rapping skills during the session and showed that his technique was still there. In a tribute to his longtime friend and rapper 50 Cent, Eminem rapped some of 50 Cent's song "Places To Go" from the "8 Mile" soundtrack last Thursday.
"Yo, Fif, first off, I wanna say happy birthday," Eminem said in a video posted on Instagram. "Secondly, I want to remind you of a verse you did that made me want to quit rapping. Picture a perfect picture/picture me in a pimp hat/picture me starting s**t/picture me busting my gat."
