Queen Elizabeth Declines Princess Beatrice’s Windsor Royal Wedding But Offers Buckingham Palace Reception

Queen Elizabeth II did not approve Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding in Windsor.

Princess Beatrice’s upcoming royal wedding isn’t as smooth sailing as her sister Princess Eugenie’s. The bride-to-be has witnessed her father Prince Andrew’s exit from his royal duties. Many also blamed the Duke of York for ruining his own daughter’s wedding.

There were speculations that Princess Beatrice will get married in Windsor just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. However, according to Richard Eden of Daily Mail, the wedding will not be happening there, but the Queen offered her residence, Buckingham Palace, to be her wedding reception.

“Bea was delighted and very grateful to accept,” a source told Eden. “It was a really special gesture as it will be the first wedding celebration at Buckingham Palace since William and Catherine’s in 2011.”

A few months back, Prince Andrew’s Epstein scandal has resurfaced. Things got worse when he decided to speak about the matter on a Newsnight interview. The royal’s gesture only backfired because many believed it would have been better if he did not speak about the issue at all. An insider said that the Queen doesn’t like her granddaughter to be affected about Prince Andrew’s issues.

“Her Majesty does not want Beatrice to suffer in any way from the troubles her father is enduring,” the insider said.

Princess Beatrice wedding to fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, a property developer, will be held in Central London. However, the royal family has not announced the location yet. The couple have many friends and Chapel Royal or Queen’s Chapel would be too small for the event.

Meanwhile, royal correspondent Jennie Bond suggested that Princess Beatrice rethink her wedding plans. According to Bond, the royal bride should not follow Princess Eugenie’s big day because there were complaints over security costs and for sure the royal family don’t want a similar embarrassment, so Princess Beatrice’s big day should be scaled down.

BBC already snubbed Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding. The network declined to offer news coverage for the event. Sky also decided to snub the coverage. It remains unknown if ITV will take the opportunity. The network covered Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding and it attracted 3 million viewers.
