Queen Elizabeth ‘Forced’ Prince Charles, Princess Diana To Save Their Broken Marriage
Queen Elizabeth II may have been the one to encourage Prince Charles and Princess Diana to push through with their divorce, but she also tried to help them save their broken marriage.
In the Amazon Prime documentary “The Story of Diana,” the narrator said that there were speculations suggesting that it was Her Majesty who forced the Princess of Wales to go with Prince Charles to South Korea because she wanted them to save their marriage.
Unfortunately for the monarch, the plans to present the royals as a loving couple did not work. James Whitaker, a royal correspondent for the Daily Mirror, said in the documentary that Prince Charles and Princess Diana were both stone-faced upon their arrival to the country, and they also ignored each other the whole time.
“Their eyes never met… there was no physical contact. It was as if they were two strangers,” he said.
Jayne Fincher, a royal photographer, told Yahoo’s “The Royal Box” last year that it was clear Prince Charles and Princess Diana had not spoken to each other in quite some time.
“The whole thing was a very icy, icy trip and that was the last trip they did together,” she said.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana announced their separation shortly after their trip to South Korea in 1992. But for years later, the couple decided to push through with their divorce.
One year before their divorce, Princess Diana sat down for an interview with Martin Bashir on Panorama where she opened up about her marriage to Prince Charles. In the interview, the Princess of Wales confirmed that there were three of them in her marriage.
She also said that she didn’t think her ex-husband is cut out for the role of King. She also said that Prince Charles didn’t really want to sit on the throne. These shocking revelations did not make Her Majesty happy so she encouraged the royals to finalize their divorce and go their separate ways for good.
