Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles enjoy horse riding together.

The Prince of Wales are not close to the Queen growing up. Prince Charles grew up at the care of the staff because Queen Elizabeth II was occupied with her royal duties. However, an adorable snap of the royal mother and son has resurfaced on Instagram.

In the snap, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles can be seen riding a horse separately. The royals seemed to wear a matching coat, but the Queen paired her get-up with black boots. Several fans said that they love the photo.

“Magnificent,” one wrote.

“Hermosa,” another fan added.

However, not everyone enjoyed the photo. One royal follower expressed her dislike toward the future king.

“I have so much respect for HRH, but non for Charles, no matter what he has done, to rise above all that he has rot, it has not been close to enough. I don't agree with his marriage to Camilla either, they get to enjoy a life together after all the hurt and injustice they created,” the user wrote.

Prince Charles was closer to his grandmother Queen Mother than to Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty was reportedly not a warm and cozy mother to the heir apparent because they didn’t have enough time to bond due to the monarch’s royal duties.

“The Queen, to be fair to her, was being Queen,” royal author Penny Junor said. “For most of Charles' childhood and the rest of his life, she was on a pedestal and he did not have a warm and cosy relationship with his mother.”

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip blamed Prince Charles more with regards to his divorce to Princess Diana. According to Robert Lacey, the Prince of Wales was “committed emotionally to another woman.” Lacey was referring to Camilla Parker Bowles.
