‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Cast Changes: Is NeNe Leakes Leaving After Feeling ‘Attacked’?

Although “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fans are used to seeing NeNe Leakes read her castmates like a boss, the Season 12 reunion has had the 52-year-old questioning whether she wants to return to the Bravo reality series.

Throughout “RHOA” Season 12, NeNe has been at the center of. feuds among her co-stars. After filming the reunion, NeNe opened up about how she felt targeted by the questions asked by both, her cast, and reunion host Andy Cohen.

The star told People that the drama from the show was beginning to take an emotional toll on her life, and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to return to that environment. “I’m still human. It’s not okay, sitting and being attacked over and over by the same people about nothing,” she told the publication.

“It stresses me out. I am sensitive, I am. If that’s all these girls have the time to do, then production needs to get some new people on the show. Because why are you guys still focused on me over here? Why do you bother me like this? Leave me alone, child.”

NeNe revealed that she felt she “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” was manipulated to tear her down. “Let me just be over here by myself. Why do you bother me like this? It doesn't make sense. Why do they argue with me every time they see me? You want to see if you can break me or not? You want the throne? It’s not going to happen,” she insisted.

“They ain’t going to be able to have it. It’s not going to be able to work. It’s impossible, honey. So I would just say we cut it out. It’s too much work.”

Reflecting on her time on the show, NeNe realized it may be time for her to leave the Bravo series and focus on what makes her happy.

“This time, being quarantined [amid the coronavirus pandemic] has really made me appreciate a lot of things about my life anyway. I keep saying to people, ‘I want my life back.’ I can’t have these girls fighting with me on TV for no reason anymore,” she explained.

“I’ve got to move forward. And if that’s all you want from me, I have to move on, and I got to go. Me and my wig got to leave, honey.”

Despite her feelings, NeNe has not confirmed whether she will leave the show. In January, Wendy Williams suggested NeNe was quitting “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” after receiving an emotional text from the star. However, NeNe quickly dismissed the talk show host’s claims.
