‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Star Nene Leakes Slams Bravo Over Kenya Moore Exit
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 11 has not even premiered, but it appears Nene Leakes already has an issue with the network that will air the new episodes. Over the weekend, the reality star slammed Bravo for letting go of former cast member Kenya Moore.
During the “RHOA” Season 10 reunion, Kenya teased she and husband Marc Daly would be welcoming a baby in the near future. She surprised fans by confirming her pregnancy a few months later but proceeded to disappoint them by revealing she wouldn’t be returning to the popular reality series.
When The Shade Room posted a photo of Kenya’s baby shower on Sunday, Nene took the opportunity to comment on her friend’s celebration while shading Bravo in the process. “They r sooooo beautiful! So so so happy for her and Marc,” she wrote underneath the picture.
“She should be a housewife! Bravo is crazy,” the 50-year-old added.
Nene’s comments come almost three months after People reported Kenya left the reality show after failed contract negotiations. Insiders revealed producers wanted to film more of Kenya’s personal life, but the star wouldn’t entertain their “insulting” offers.
“Everyone was rooting for her and wanted to see her back, even women like Nene [Leakes] and Porsha [Williams] who haven’t always been on ‘Team Kenya.’ The cast, producers, Bravo — they all know she’s good for the show. But it got messy. She just refused to compromise,” a source revealed.
Those close to the star claimed she was also concerned that allowing production cameras to document her relationship would jeopardize her marriage. “Marc isn’t comfortable being on camera, and Kenya respects that. Relationships go both ways and she respects her husband,” a source explained.
“He loves her. They’re having a baby. That’s the priority — not fighting with some women for ratings.”
Although viewers won’t see Kenya in the new episodes, the star continues to share pregnancy updates with fans as she patiently waits for the arrival of her first child.
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 11 will premiere Sunday, Nov. 4 on Bravo.
